Moodboard for SCULPTURE IN FASHION http://sculpturedfashion.tumblr.com/

These outfits are by Dutch fashion designer IRIS VAN HERPEN. She is known for her cutting edge designs and use of modern techniques such as 3D printing. These pieces were designed to look as if the model is being splashed with water.
Although water is delicate and flowing I believe that these garments still look architectural and structured. The 'water' is made from plastic and although see through, looks solid and fixed. The contrast between the curved lines of the 'water' will look interesting paired with straighter, bolder lines.
Quite hard to see from this photo (above) but I folded this sheet of paper and used it to make a study from, to see where the light/shadow fell. Folded paper could resemble the straight geometric lines I had been looking at.
Here is a first draft story board:
I created a short stop motion film where i slowly altered a piece of string (in a wiggly shape taken from the 'water' dresses by Iris Van Herpen) into an 'S' shape, standing for 'SCULPTURE'
I found a series of images taken by Iris Van Herpen of her work and
research. I used photoshop to super impose them, creating layers.
This is my final IDENT http://vimeo.com/69247371
